He was put in custody in 1998 because as an 11-year-old, he killed four classmates and a teacher with his friend, 13-year-old Mitchell Johnson, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.why? Current Mood: sad

Silicon for computer chips is manufactured in large cylinders, approx. 1 meter long and 30 cm in diameter. Silicon has a density of 28.0855 kg/m^3, meaning one such cylinder would weigh about 26.5 kilos (about 60 pounds).
Those cylinders are then cut up into discs, about half a millimeter thick. That means 2000 discs come from one cylinder. A fairly decent bulk rate for silicon discs is $10 per disc, or 20,000 dollars for the whole cylinder.
As a comparison, 1 ounce of gold is selling for about $550 this morning; that makes it about 19,400 dollars per kilo of gold, or about 9 grand for a pound.
